Our
Pastor, Dr. Ron Bradley, came to Roswell’s First Baptist Church
in November 1997 from Killarney Baptist Church in Winter Park,
Florida. He also has pastored Scottsville Baptist Church in
Allen County, Kentucky, and Graefenburg Baptist Church in Shelby
County, Kentucky. He is a graduate of Union University in
Jackson, Tennessee and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Bradley was ordained to the
ministry by Hanley Hills Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri,
which is his hometown. He has done mission work in Jamaica, the
Orient, and Trinidad. Dr. Bradley’s wife, Cheryl, earned her
Master of Social Work degree from Southern Seminary, and is a
specialist in the area of grief counseling. They have two grown
daughters, Amy and Amber.
Dr. Bob Vickers joined the staff November 1, 2003 after
serving for six years as the Director of Chaplaincy for the
North American Mission Board, SBC. Prior to that, he served as a
US Army Chaplain for 22 years, attaining the rank of Colonel. He
also pastored churches in Kentucky before entering Active Duty.
He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Southern
Baptist Theological Seminary, Lexington Theological Seminary,
and Vanderbilt University. Dr. Vickers was ordained by the First
Baptist Church of Richmond, Kentucky. His wife, Carol, is a
gifted musician with an emphasis in choral direction. They are
the parents of two grown sons, Vince and Ryan, and the proud
grandparents of three grandsons, Jake, Emery, and Cole and
one granddaughter Ava.
Jerry
Tyler, our Minister of Music, is a native of Hahira, Georgia,
and holds degrees from Norman College and Samford University. He
and his wife Maryann have two children and have been a part of
RFBC since 1984. Tyler says that "having my wife work beside me
in the ministry has been one of my greatest blessings."
Maryann
Tyler, our Church Organist and Children’s Choir Coordinator is
from Jackson, Alabama. Maryann holds a Music Education degree
from Samford University. She has been on our staff since 1984
and is the wife of our Minister of Music. One of her joys is
"sharing with God’s people what He has given me both on the
keyboard and with the children at RFBC."
Robert
Turnbull joined the staff in May, 2005 after serving as Family
Life Minister for Lake City First Baptist Church in South
Carolina. Before that, he served as minister to students for 5
years at First Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia. He is a
graduate ofthe Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Louisville, Kentucky. Robert was ordained by the First Baptist
Church of Avon Park, Florida where he was born. His wife, Dena,
is also a native of Avon Park, Florida. They have three
children, a son, Davis and two daughters, Ashlyn and Addison.
Our youth ministry team encourages the whole family to be
involved in ministry and missions throughout the whole church as
well as Sunday school, worship, and youth activities. We
encourage our youths' involvement within our community as an
opportunity to be leaders and represent Christ.
Brenda
Dedmon is a native of Athens, Alabama. She has a BS degree from
Athens State College, Athens, Alabama and a Masters of Religious
Education Degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,
Louisville, Kentucky She has served churches in Alabama,
Mississippi, Florida and Georgia. She has been on the staff at
First Baptist of Roswell, since 2001. Brenda’s goal is to
provide a solid spiritual foundation for children during the
childhood years. This is accomplished by providing a holistic
ministry to children and their families in the church. A Bible
verse which best describes Brenda’s love and passion for
children’s ministry would be: “Children are a gift from God,
they are His reward” Psalm 127:3
Jan
Moore, our singles Coordinator, is a native of Roswell, Georgia,
and grew up in the ministries of First Baptist. She is a
graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, and holds a
master's degree from the University of Mississippi. Her goal for
Singles is "to provide a warm, loving environment in which
singles can feel safe in meeting others, join in activities they
enjoy, have spiritual growth and use their talents to serve
where needed."
Dr.
Doyle Hamilton, Director of RFBC Counseling Center and Minister
to Families, has been with us since 1996. He is a graduate of
Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and
the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The RFBC counseling
center is affiliated with Georgia Baptist Health Care System
where Dr. Hamilton has been affiliated since 1988. As a pastoral
counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist he works
with couples, families and individuals. Doyle (from Monroe,
Louisiana) and his wife, Salley (from Charleston, South
